Conference “Legal policy challenges and counter measures in the era of generative AI”

On 31 May, Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the “International Conference” co-organised by the Korea Law Research Institute (KLRI) and the Korean Association of Artificial Intelligence (KAAIL). The Conference aims to analyse “Legal policy challenges and counter measures in the era of generative AI”. The Professor will take part in the panel dedicated to "Trends in International Discussion on Generative AI" and will focus on “Background and legal implications of blocking ChatGPT in Italy”. The debate will be moderated by Prof. Park Sang-Cheol, Seoul National University, Dr. Luca Castellani, UNCITRAL Secretariat, Prof. Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell, Carlos III University of Madrid, and Prof. Alberto De Franceschi, University of Ferrara.
Conference “Libertà e liceità del consenso nel trattamento dei dati personali”

On 5 May, Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will participate in the Conference "Freedom and lawfulness of consent in the processing of personal data", organised by the University of Florence. The professor will speak on "Consent to processing and freedom" in the first session of the day's proceedings, which will be chaired by Pres. Pasquale Stanzione, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Il 5 maggio, la Prof.ssa Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro parteciperà alla Conferenza “Libertà e liceità del consenso nel trattamento dei dati personali”, organizzato dalla Università degli Studi di Firenze. La Professoressa relazionerà su “Consenso al trattamento e libertà” nella prima sessione della giornata di lavori che sarà presieduta dal Pres. Pasquale Stanzione, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

On 3 May, Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the presentation of the book "Lo Stato digitale. An introduction" by Prof. Luisa Torchia, published by Il Mulino. The event is part of the cycle of presentations of recent volumes on "Public powers: their discipline, their history", organised by the Chair of European Administrative Law at the University of Tuscia. Prof. Daria de Pretis, Vice-President of the Constitutional Court, Prof. Angelo Orofino, LUM University, Prof. Giulio Vesperini, University of Tuscia, will join the discussion.

On 29 April 2023, Prof. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the “Alumni Weekend” of the School of Advanced International Studies in Europe, John Hopkins University, which will take place in Bologna. She will join the panel dedicated to “Challenges and Opportunities of New Technologies in International Relations” that will be moderated by Prof. Nina Hall, JHU SAIS Europe, and will also host speeches by GaboArora, Founder of LightShed, and Prof. Richard Wilcox, JHU SAIS Europe.
Economia pulita. Futuro, impresa e sostenibilità – Conference

On 21 April 2023, Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will participate in “Clean Economy. Future, enterprise and sustainability”, the conference organised at Spazio Europa run by the European Parliament Office in Italy and the European Commission Representation in Italy. The event aims to transversally investigate sustainability issues by means of a comparison between different professions. The Professor will chair and coordinate the session dedicated to “Digitisation as a factor for sustainability”, which will be addressed by dr. Elisabetta Cammarota, ASVIS, dr. Daniele Fano, Member of the Scientific Committee of Randstad Research, and dr. Fabio Glave, Managing Director of Gieffe Research.
65th Session of the IV Working Group on Electronic Commerce
10-14 April
Prof. ssa. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part as Chairperson in the Session of Working Group IV on Electronic Commerce of UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) which will take place in New York from 10 to 14 April 2023. The Professor will chair the Session, which will cover the use of Artificial Intelligence and automation in contracting. In particular, cases and legal issues arising from the use of AI and automation in contracting will be examined during the proceedings.
