Prof. ssa. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part as Chairperson in the Session of Working Group IV on Electronic Commerce of UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) which will take place in New York from 10 to 14 April 2023. The Professor will chair the Session, which will cover the use of Artificial Intelligence and automation in contracting. In particular, cases and legal issues arising from the use of AI and automation in contracting will be examined during the proceedings.

29 – 30 March 2023

Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in “Aula Mediterrania”, an Interdisciplinary Research Seminar organised by IEMed as part of an inter-university programme. The Seminar will take place in Barcelona from 29 to 30 March 2023. More than 30 experts will participate in the event and key issues in today’s Mediterranean will be analysed through nine thematic sessions. These topics include relations between Middle Eastern countries, Russia and China, the challenges and opportunities of energy policies in the Mediterranean, migration management in the Mediterranean, the current state of Turkey’s geopolitics, political power and pop culture in the Middle East.

Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will be teaching the course "Asset Relations and New Technologies" organised by the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura, at Naples. The course aims to train Magistrates on issues related to new technologies.
The professor will speak on "Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks" together with Prof. Francesco Romeo, professor of logic and legal informatics at the University of Naples Federico II.

On 22 February, Professor Giusella Finocchiaro will parteicpate in the event organized by the Italian Data Protection Authority in Rome, at the Esperienza Europa "David Sassoli".
Professor Finocchiaro will join several eminent speakers to present the volume "La privacy dell'era digitale. Le relazioni dei Presidenti dell'Autorità Garante 1997-2022", edited by the President of the Authority, Professor Pasquale Stanzione, who will open the event with his institutional greeting.

On 3 February, Professor Giusella Finocchiaro will partecipate in the event "Le tecnologie digitali tra regolazione pubblica e autonomia privata", a conference organized to present the volume "Protezione dei dati personali e nuove tecnologie", edited by Adelina Adinolfi and Andrea Simoncini. The event, organized by the Law School of the Università degli Studi di Firenze in partnership with Fondazione CR Firenze, will be structured in three sessions, respectively focused on: fundamental principles and rights whitin the regulation of digital technologies, data protection and digital markets, the digital transformation and the regulation of technologies. Professor Finocchiaro will join the second session, examining the GDPR application in the italian system.

On 15 December 2022, Prof. Giusella Finocchiaro will participate in the “Annual Meeting Rin”, organised by the Network of IRCCS of Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation, the largest Italian research network in the field. The Professor will join the Round Table and discuss “Health research: data, technologies & privacy” together with Prof. Mario Alberto Battaglia, President of the Foundation of the Italian MS Society, Prof. Alfredo Berardelli, President of the Italian Society of Neurology, Dr. Raffaele Donini, Councillor for Neurology, and Dr. Mario Alberto Battaglia, President of the Italian MS Society, Raffaele Donini, Councillor for Health Policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Coordinator of the Health Commission of the Conference of Regions, Dr. Giuseppe Ippolito, Director General of the Research and Innovation Directorate, Ministry of Health, and Prof. Francesco Ubertini, President of CINECA.
