UNCITRAL – Digital Economy: Legal Recognition of Electronic Identification and Applications of Artificial Intelligence

Prof. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the event titled “Digital Economy: Legal Recognition of Electronic Identification and Applications of Artificial Intelligence” organised by UNCITRAL in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, to be hosted by Jinan University in Guangzhou. The Professor will speak on two panels entitled ‘Model law on Identity Management and Trust Services’ and ‘Algorithmic Liability in the Digital Economy’ respectively. She will talk about the model law approved in July and the new proposals on which Working Group IV, of which Prof. Finocchiaro is President, is working intensively.

Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the Data Protection Officer (DPO) Course organised by SDA, School of Management, Bocconi University. The Professor will give a speech entitled "The legal bases. Valuing data without incurring violations: marketing and other" in which she will focus on the main aspects concerning data processing in the new panorama of data valorisation and sharing, with particular reference to the legal bases and their use.


Round Table – FSE 2.0 e Gestione e valorizzazione del dato di salute

Prof. Giusella Finocchiaro will join the Round Table organised as part of the “Training and Learning Course for Public Management and ICT Innovation Management” by ASSINTER Academy and under the scientific responsibility of the University of Bologna. The Professor will contribute to the discussion on the topic “Data driven, digital twin and predictive models for services and citizen care”, and she will be joined by Eng. Lorenzo Gubian, Assinter Vice President and DG Aria, Dr. Andrea Quacivi, CEO of Sogei, and Prof. Eng. Francesco Ubertini, Magnificent Rector of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna and President of CINECA. The moderation is instead entrusted to Eng. The Professor will chair the first panel of the second Conference day devoted to “Digital Sovereignty”, in which dott. Paolo Guarda, Trento University, dott.ssa Giulia Terranova, Milan State University, Prof. Biagio Andò, Catania University, dott.ssa Cinzia Valente, Modena and Reggio Emilia University, Prof. Emeritus Roberto Pardolesi, LUISS University, Prof. Massimiliano Granieri, Brescia University, dott. Francesco Alongi, Bologna University, and dott. Enrico Toti, Roma Tre University, will intervene.


Seminar “Rights in the Infosphere”

“Rights in the Infosphere” is the hybrid seminar which will take place on 4 October 2022 at the Università Commerciale “L. Bocconi”, Milan, with the participation of Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro.
The event, which will be introduced by the greetings of Prof. Donato Masciandro, aims to analyse the ethical and legal consequences of the application of technologies, starting from the philosophical analysis of Prof. Luciano Floridi, University of Bologna, who will be entrusted with the event’s conclusions. Conference “Transdisciplinary Dialogue and the Jurist’s Identity”

Prof. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in the Conference “Transdisciplinary Dialogue and the Jurist’s Identity” organised by the University of Milan. The conference aims to investigate the concept of “permeability” between the legal system and different scientific areas. The Professor will join the first session of the day’s programme and together with Prof. Francesco Delfini, Professor of Private Law at the University of Milan, will discuss the topic of “Contract Law, Information Technology and Financial Market Economics: the necessary osmosis”.
